Twenty rounded medallions are arranged in four rows across a deep crimson ground. Each contains four hooked forms turning around a small central diamond. Alternating arrangements of ivory, dark blue, green and red give the repeated design a lively rhythm. A broad border of smaller four-lobed motifs, worked in the same palette with touches of pale blue and pink, frames the field.
