Moroccan Berber Bujaad Carpet (300x200cm)

This is a beautifully hand-knotted Bujaad rug. Although made by the semi-nomadic Berber tribe from the Atlas mountains, the design of this carpet is heavily influenced by the Ottoman patterns and style. Many carpets were imported to the markets in Rabat, Marrakesh and Fez from Turkey. They were popular in homes of wealthy families.  These carper were made as affordable look-alikes for the poorer household.  All colours are organic.
