Description
Mid-20th century south-Persian Gabbeh Shuli (salt and pepper) rug attributed to the nomadic Luri tribe. The Lurs are about the largest tribal nomadic tribe in Iran. Unlike their neighbours, the Qashqai whose Central-Asian roots are evident in their Turkic language, the Lurs speak a language that is related to Persian.
